Parents and Counsellors : Research at CUSB
Research at CUSB
Professors at the CUSB are involved in all kinds of research activities in disciplines such as education, literature, anthropology, microbiology, sociology, and mathematics. Students can gain valuable experience as research assistants while working part-time with professors on research projects. For instance, students have worked on the following projects in recent years:
- Use of coffee and tea as antimicrobial agents in conserving food;
- Content analysis of print and visual media in francophone communities;
- Lexical research for the translation of historical documents;
- Classroom observations of science teaching;
- Archival research in studies of early settlers;
- Interviewing Métis elders to describe their language and culture.
Teaching and research are interrelated. Doing research makes for both better teaching and better learning.
