Faculty of Social Work

Are you interested in a career in social work and health services? Do you wish to help fulfill the lives of people of all ages and walks of life?
Through the four-year Bachelor of Social Work program at CUSB, you will have the opportunity to master the political concepts and issues of social work. You will develop interpersonal skills that will allow you to better understand the dynamics of human behaviour. With the knowledge you will acquire, you will also be able to grasp the political foundations of this field as well as the issues involved in social intervention, not only within the governmental framework but also in the ethnic diversity of a population living in a demographic and linguistic minority situation. Furthermore, your initiation to social research will prepare you for the more pragmatic dimension of your career training.
At the end of the third and fourth years of study, you will have the opportunity to further master your area of practice by doing a field placement and by gaining working knowledge of the different steps and methodologies involved in professional social intervention in various contexts (health, family, diversity). You will be able to use intervention tools such as counselling with the future beneficiaries of your services.
